ADP Corporate redesign

and other projects

BRAND strategy & DESIGN, UX LEAD, RESEARCH & STRATEGY, INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE, MOBILE DESIGN, PROJECT MANAGEMENT

ADP is the leading provider of human resources management and payroll services in the United States. They hired Modus as their primary digital strategy & design agency to lead their entire website redesign. We worked on dozens of projects with them including, but not limited to: their corporate website redesign, B2B Product Marketing, Blogs & Social Campaigns, Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Landing Pages, National Employment Report and Workforce Vitality Index data visualization, and Product Design.

I worked on nearly all of the ADP projects from 2015 through 2018, working across various departments, business units, and client teams. I lead multiple projects, all of which came in under deadline and averaged $10k under budget. I established a trusting, amicable, and strong working relationship with all members of Modus’ team that worked on ADP, as well as the stakeholders from the ADP team.

Due to our efforts, ADP saw massive increases in traffic, SEO, and leads.

B2B Product Marketing Pages

One of ADP's main operations is selling HR & payroll products to other businesses. They have multiple products for various sizes and types of companies, and the marketing for those products is integral to their business. We made sure their products were framed as innovative and accessible, while making their lives easier. Featuring product shots, and environmental photos, while touching on all the features of the products, we've helped increase their conversion rates.

I worked on multiple product showcases, utilizing their design system to communicate with iconography and engaging visuals. We've found through user research that a well-balanced amount of friendly environmental photos that relate to the audience, as well as product screenshots, really drive traffic and users to request a quote, and eventually become a customer.

Corporate Site Redesign

We were tasked with redesigning ADP's entire site, from top to bottom, with a new look and feel. We established a comprehensive design system that could be applied to literally any existing page on their site. Utilizing bright colors and catchy elements, we brightened up their look and feel and in turn, completely personified their new friendly and approachable brand identity.

I also spearheaded the effort for creating a comprehensive, documented design system within Sketch to streamline the creation of new asset design. I audited all work done previously, and compiled it all into a design library that was utilized by our design team, with repeatable elements of color, typography, iconography, and more. I was also part of the team that convinced ADP to transition to a new and more modern technology setup in order for us to provide them with design assets in a quicker and more accessible way.

Blogs

ADP is one of the most trusted companies in the country, and they wanted to find an additional way to promote their insights. They wanted to give business owners of all sizes resources to help them be confident in their decisions. Our initial project was to brand and strategize the Thrive blog for ADP's small and midsized businesses. After a successful launch, we branded and developed additional blogs for HR professionals (Spark) and another for finance and accounting specialists (Boost).

I was the design lead for the redesign of the blogs. The goal was to simplify the page design, streamline content, and group the articles in more engaging ways. After assessing the users' behavioral patterns, we came up with a few layout options, and ended up going with the designs below. ADP wanted to apply the same look and feel to each blog, but we decided to choose specific color themes for each. We also came up with a few promotional blade ideas, along with a specially designed blade for Marcus Buckingham, an author and thought leader who recently partnered with ADP.

We also overhauled the article page, applying current standards to the design layout, as well as implementing some strategic moments for other types of content, like podcasts, videos, and pull quotes that can be easily shared.

Workforce Vitality Report

ADP compiles one of the largest collections of employment data due to their size and the nature of the industry they are in. They release a quarterly report sharing all of their insights on the Workforce Vitality in the US.

I was Design Lead for the team that completely overhauled the Workforce Vitality Report, making it engaging, bright, intuitive and as digestible as possible. There are many different types of audiences, and they weren't necessarily reaching all of them. Our main goal was to create a beautiful and accessible report that anyone could get value out of. I dug in with airy interactions and clean and concise organization of information.

This was initially a daunting project, but we worked incredibly closely with their team of analysts and developed a beautiful and streamlined interactive data visualization that both our team and ADP was proud of.
